Sandy Bay Park Residents Association (SBPRA)

Hello all

 

As you may all be aware, the Chairman, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer will all look to stand down at the coming Committee renewal, it may be that other members step down also.  We have served for 3 terms, and feel that family and life need to step forward, and the trials and tribulations of Committee work step back.

 

We wish to remind  you that every member of the Sandy Bay Residents Association can nominate themselves for a position on the Committee. You may only nominate yourself for a position.

 

As you will all recall (stated at the AGM), there were no new nominations last year for Chairnan, Vice Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer, and so the existing Committee agreed to stay in place.  There were 4 new nominations for committee members, who were all able to join to fill the places of other members who had stepped down.  Can we please be clear, there were NO OTHER nominations, and so, no need for a vote.

 

If there are no nominations for a Chairperson, Secretary or treasurer then the RA ceases to be.  This can not be an option, we have on Sandy Bay the strongest Residents Association with a membership of 84% of the Park,  It is important that this percentage does not fall below 50%, as again this will leave us with little or no say to Management.

 

As per National Guidelines, if this comes to a vote,  there can only be one vote per household. 

 

The outgoing Committee are very proud of all that we have achieved, from Bingate, to Adult Health talks including Dementia, Prostate Cancer,  ongoing support for those most vulnerable on the park, Assisting with Fundraising for our local community, Armistice Day celebrations, lighting issues, and planning for the facilities, to name just a few.  We all hope that the in coming Team will be even more successful with these. 

 

If you would like to nominate yourself.  Please do!!!  The park is growing by the week and we all need brave, supportive, balanced, individuals, who want the very best for ALL of the members of the QRA.

 

An information document can be accessed by clicking the link below.  This will give you plenty of time to decide and put your names in the hat.  If you do want to nominate yourself, please email back to this address and you will be given a nomination form.  The closing date will be Thursday 30th April.  This will allow time to collate the nominations, ask you to vote (should this be necessary) and for the new folks to meet with those incumbents.
