Update on Sandy Bay Security Status

SBPRA Chairman has discussed status with Sandy Bay Site Manager

Security new

All SBPRA Members,

Due to rumours circulating Sandy Bay yesterday and today, regarding changes being made to the level of security provided by Sandy Bay Management, our chairman has discussed the situation with the site manager today.

Our chairman was assured that there would be no fundamental changes in the level of security provided, although there may be some unspecified changes and streamlining implemented, details were not disclosed.

The site manager confirmed that the security of Sandy Bay was very important, with that in mind the committee will follow any developments and ensure that the Sandy Bay Management are fully aware of the expectations of residents regarding the level of security provided.

As per the Mobile Homes Regulations, Sandy Bay Management should have given the SBPRA 28 days notice of any proposed changes to the level of security provided.

The SBPRA has the right to initiate a failure to agree process if any changes to the level of Sandy Bay Site Security are seen as detrimental to the residents of Sandy Bay. This potentially could result in a Tribunal case.

Personnel changes within the Security Department are a contractual issue between the employees involved, and Sandy Bay Management and are not a matter for the SBPRA to get involved in.

Please remember our negotiating strength comes from working together, please wait for further direction and news from the SBPRA.
