Dear Residents,
This event is for those of you who could not make the trip to the world's largest Peoples Festival (Volksfest), held in Munich,Germany from approximately the middle of September until the first Sunday in October.
So residents can enjoy the event closer to home, the Sandy Bay Pool and Bar Teams are holding their very popular Oktoberfest event 'Under the Arches' at The Sandy Bay Bar & Restaurant.
The event will include a selection of German beers which will also be available in 2 pint steins, and in addition there will also be a selection of German wines. The bar will be offering their reduced food menu which will also include a special of Bratwurst Sausage.

Can the Residents Beat the Beer Consumption Record?
Very unlikely, an impossibility in fact, as the Munich Oktoberfest beer consumption annual average is around 6.9 million litres of beer, with 2015 absolutely killing it with 7.7 million litres of beer consumed in two weeks. In non-metric system terms, that’s over 2 million gallons of beer. That’s 131,234 kegs of beer. In two week!
Note, in the spirit of promoting safe drinking, any beer consumed by residents priot to the event will not count towards breaking the record!
