Sandy Bay swimming pool are pleased to announce that we will be running our Junior Lifeguard Course from Tuesday 15th August- Thursday 18th August 2022 from 10.30am - 1pm.
The course is open for children aged between 10 years - 15 years old. To attend the course children must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool (40 metres) unaided and tread water for 30 seconds.
The course is perfect for young swimmers who want to learn fun new life-saving skills as well as games and other fun activities. The course will teach children the importance of water safety and what to do in an emergency. The children will be shown Important lifesaving techniques within the pool to keep themselves and others safe in the case of an emergency in the water.
The course also includes the ‘Junior Medic’ a first aid and resuscitation programme, where the children will learn how to perform CPR and the safe use of a defibrillator, as well as other important lifesaving techniques.
The three day course costs £30 per child and includes a junior lifeguard T-shirt.
