Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Live Aid!
Live Aid was a historic benefit concert that took place on 13th July 1985, uniting over 100 artists across two continents — London and Philadelphia — to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. With an estimated global audience of 1.9 billion, it became one of the largest and most impactful charity events in history.
The 40th anniversary of Live Aid in 2025 marks four decades since the groundbreaking 1985 concert which raised millions. The anniversary celebrates its lasting cultural impact, highlighting the unity and generosity it inspired.
To honour this cultural milestone, we’re bringing the full concert experience back — under the arches outside the Sandy Bay Bar! Join us on Sunday 13th July 2025 as we mark 40 years since Live Aid, the legendary global benefit concert.
🎤 Come dressed as your favourite Live Aid performer or in classic 80s pop style!
Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Man.
🕛 Event starts shortly before 12:00 midday.
We’ll kick things off with news reels from 1985, followed by the iconic Band Aid and USA for Africa charity singles. Then, just like the original show, get ready as Status Quo launches the concert with “Rockin’ All Over the World.”
Let’s celebrate the music, the message, and the magic of Live Aid — together.
See you there!
