Oktoberfest
Sunday 29 September 2024
14:00 to 18:00
Oktoberfest was first celebrated in 1810 in the Bavarian region of Germany to commemorate a royal wedding, and included five days of horse races, folk singing, and beer ... lots of beer. Over the years, Oktoberfest has become a more general celebration of German culture and food that's recognized around the world. It is still held annually in Munich, from approximately the middle of September until the first Sunday in October.
Sandy Bay Residents can enjoy the event closer to home, 'under the arches' at The Sandy Bay Bar & Restaurant.
This is set to be a fun afternoon. There will be a singer who will play both DJ oompah music as well as some fun sing along songs. 🎵 💃🕺
The Bar will be serving some Oktoberfest specials as well as our usual event menu. 🌠🥨
There will be some fun side stalls with games. These stalls will be cash only, and all money raised will be donated to Macmillan. Prizes will be up for grabs !!
Fancy dress is optional. Bring a jacket or blanket for when the sun starts going down. 👗🩳
Seats will be available first come first served. Looking forward to seeing you all there for a fun filled afternoon.
